Internship Abroad
An Internship Abroad is an invaluable way for participants to give back to communities in need. We have Internship Abroad opportunities at each and everyone of our program sites. Internship Abroad differs from Volunteer Abroad, as it requires you to learn or have a specialized skill set. For example, while a volunteer may provide childcare in an orphanage, an intern will assist in the orphanage’s program development or donor relations.
Usually an intern seeks to gain experience related to his or her education or career path. An Internship Abroad is an exceptional investment in your future. Many interns gain course credit by interning as part of an independent study or practicum course. We are happy for you to use your internship for course credit. At your request, we will also provide a reference letter upon completion of your Internship Abroad placement.
As an intern we require a commitment of at least two months, and you may intern for up to four months. We will make sure you have time to get to know the country of your placement; we think this is incredibly valuable. It is important not just to intern, but also to get to know the country you are interning in. By learning more about the country, as well as it's people, you will benefit from a well-rounded learning experience.
