Our volunteers offer noteworthy assistance in healthcare, in both clinical and public health settings. Our clinical placements are in medical centres serving the poorest of the poor. Our public health placements are primarily focused on health education. We have current opportunities in both clinical and public health.
Clinical Health
We work in medical centres that are severely under-staffed, and our volunteers help to relieve the burden on overworked local staff. As a volunteer you will act in an assistive capacity, offering support to patients. This enables the medical centre to serve more people who are in need of medical care.
Public Health
On a public health placement you will be engaged primarily in educating people about the various aspects of health. On the one hand, you may be in the field delivering public health education. On the other hand, you may be working to develop new health education materials in the office. By developing new health education materials, you will directly contribute to the sustainability of the public health program, as the resources will be available for local staff and future volunteers long after your placement has finished.
